The West Virginia Development Office issues guidelines for the preparation of regional development plans mandated by state statute, reviewing them for conformity and completion before they are incorporated into state plan documents.
The office provides guidelines, funding and technical assistance to counties and municipalities for implementing planning and zoning statutes (Chapter 8, Article 24, WV Code).
