| The West Virginia Development Office houses the lead agency
of the West Virginia State Data Center/Business and Industry
Data Center Network, an association of 31 public agencies
that cooperate with the U.S. Bureau of the Census to facilitate
use and delivery of Census and other data to the public. The
center helps people get demographic and economic data, copies
of census maps, access census computer files and a variety

According to the 2000 Census, West Virginia’s population
is 1,808,344, an increase of 0.8 percent from 1990. For a
